I was once stationed in Mobile. I was single and banged a fair number of Alabama girls. I think I'm safe now that I'm across the state line. But beaches? You gotta kidding me! Ever heard of the Sonoran desert? It's the biggest beach in North America. You have to bring your own water though.
I done heared of it. Kinda hard to ride a wave without the water, though. The only time I spent an appreciable amount in Arizoner my nose bled the entire time I was there. Them there arid climes don't fit well with me
"That's just the first impression. He just seems to be from another continent" lol- i see what you did there. Not a huge Harper fan. He seems way too uptight. My way or the highway guy. Needs to loosen up. But looking at what the other options are, now is not the time to introduce rookie players. Seeing the results of ndp takeover in AB, not at all impressed with them, other than a small increase in the promised 15$hr minimum wage. It's mostly about oil/gas, isn't it. If there will not be any profit at 40-50 barrel oil- where will we gather taxes to support infrastructure etc. Look at how low oil prices have devastated South American countries. Weird how AB petrol prices remain around 1.10/litre, similar to what they were before the KSA decided to drop oil down. Let KSA know we are not happy (release the redacted 911 pages).
An update: Turd Water Jr. is holding onto his lead in the polls -- as high as 8% in some of them. If I were not a non-political unbiased person I'd be very scared. Conversely, (if I were not a non-political and unbiased person) I'd take some heart in the fact that his deputy campaign manager was forced to resign after a what I'm told is a rather telling (i.e. embarrassing) email to an oil company regarding a pipeline that Turd Water Jr. "opposes" in public because its a popular position. Needless to say, the email's contents do not support his public position. Or so I'm told. Non-partisanship and all that, eh? Now -- hypothetically speaking, of course -- I'm still undecided on what my entirely non-politically-motivated exile location would be. Currently my options "would" be either Arizona or Alabama.... would anyone else like to open their home turf to me? I am open to suggestions, as long as these locations aren't Detroit, New Jersey or certain parts of California.
Oh, we're not moving down there, to close to the hurricane zone. We'll just sit here safely on the New Madrid fault.
A friend of mine Billy thinks Obama looks like a Swede. Billy is from Middle Village - Queens and he is of Italian descent, 100%. He told me also that the certain Wise guys made sure no Swedes live in their neighborhood.
I'm far enough inland that hurricanes are mostly just rain by time they get here. Now, tornadoes, you orta know all about them.
hehehe, turd water...Surprised the Conservatives haven't used that yet in a political ad. Surely ur not leaving because of politics, GP. Guessing you are looking for a nice warm place to retire, that also allows sexy weapons. The US will impose restrictions sooner than later, it looks like. ..Next President will determine the fate of guns either forever or the next 4/8 years. maybe.
Not gonna happen unless there's an actual coup. To remove the 2nd amendment of the Constitution would require 2/3rds of the states to vote it out with a Constitutional Amendment. That would never happen. Even if it did, it probably wouldn't pass muster in the courts because the amendment process has never been used to nullify rights in the original bill of rights. Gun rights have been expanding over the last twenty or more years, not contracting. The 2nd Amendment is pretty clear and the courts have upheld gun rights over and over again. I think there are only seven states left that don't have "shall issue" (the state is compelled to issue a concealed carry permit to any non-felon applying) gun carry permits. Now we're seeing "Constitutional Carry" where states don't even require people to have a permit. We're now up to six states that require no permit at all, and more are introducing legislation for that leap forward. The liberals can make noises about gun control to please the stupid people, but they can't really do anything about guns. Not in this country.
Not going to happen in the next 4-8 years? Clinton and Obama are making a lot of noise about how Australia did it.
Different dynamics at work here in the states. That "Lexington and Concord" thing is still deeply seated in the American psyche in general, and the Civil War line of thought down South. Ain't gonna happen. Damn yankees.
Very, very entertaining thread, y'all, especially for this ex quasi liberal Canadian from Vancouver turned Texan-American right-wing extremist (aka Constitution-respecting, freedom-loving, sensible and intellectually honest citizen)! If that poll proves anything, it is that the state of both academic institutions and the media in Canada is probably even worse than I remember!
Well, some potentially good news for all of those throughly non-political, unbiased persons out there: the polls this morning show some tightening, and a statistical tie among "likely voters". Conservative turnout is always higher than Liberal turnout due to the age demographics, or so I'm told by those who pay attention to such things.
