The one photo I saw shows an AK47 muzzle break right in front of him. Since the fall of Gaddafi, I'd suspect that everyone has a AK over there so it doesn't neccessarily mean they are criminals. The men in the photos could be pro-American fighters (ie: heard the embassy was under attack, came to assist) or could be the men who attacked him (I've seen a few photos of the rioters flashing "peace" signs on the steps of the burning embassy -- its very possible they could have found him inside). I'm not saying one way or the other because I simply don't know enough to draw an educated conclusion -- its just something to think about.
We have chosen to appease the worst barbarians one can imagine...the future will show what good it will do!
The Ambassador was delivered to the hospital by Libyian police or soldiers who were NOT involved in the attack, but driving off the attackers. That was widely reported and verified. He passed away from smoke inhalation while there in the hospital.
biting the hand that feeds you........not a real smart idea, and now a couple of US ships in the gulf, and for what, protection of future embassies getting nailed ? I really pity these mid-eastern folks what they need is to hang their whacked leadership and then get a real job and get their respective countries viable again, but again as I have said since day one before 9/11 we do not understand the eastern mind at all...... to live and die by the sword. personally I think the Celts are to blame for the vid which you know that almost everyone of these hoodlums part of the protests have never and will never see ...........
Those Libyans who are truly friends of the US are speaking out and evicting the Militia which was responsible for the attack on the Bengazi outpost, and the deaths of the Americans there. Also they are rallying in the other hot-bed of Islamic radicals in the smaller city east of Bengazi which sent the largest number of armed troops to Iraq to aid Saddam (Darna?). It's just sheer bandwagon-jumping by arses with too much spare time- BBC News - Muslims in Scottish Parliament film protest Why the hell are they protesting outside the Scottish Parliament about a film made in America by an Egyptian, and what do they think Holyrood can do about it?!
Too true Gordon. These people take their religon far too seriously. It's a measure of the maturity of our Western culture that we can make something like "Monty Python's Life of Brian" and show it to the greater majority of the Western world with only a relative few bible bashers protesting, mostly from those that have never laid eyes on the film. The same thing happened to Salman Rushdie over "The Satanic Verses". By far the greater majority of people whining about the book had not read, and had no intention of doing so. Funny how the "Last Temptation of Christ" depicted The Great J.C. in all sorts of wierd and wonderous language and saucy imagery, and the protests by the most devout Christians were muted to say the least, certainly no rioting. I think the Prophet Mehummet would be more than a little ashamed at what his teachings have evolved into in the modern sphere. There is simple respect for the teachings of a great man, and then there is what these modern people do, supposedly in his name, and for the protection of what? Grow up, you guys that are causing these pointless excuses for an all in riot. You do the cause of Islam no good whatsoever. Won't even mention flying jet aircraft into buildings.
V.B and Gordon, I would take odds that 8 out of 10 of these wing-nuts haven't even seen this crappy film-clip that was poorly edited and dubbed to make it seem something it wasn't. Much like Satanic Verses, by Rushdi, it was largely unread in the Muslim world but churning up the Islamic Radicals against the west worked well for the TV clips.
Just to let you know that the people of Benghasi kicked out of town some of the radical guys today and burned down their headquarters. Apparently 11 people were killed .
Here is a link to a review of this piece of poo. And while I disagree with his opinion on the Benny Hill Show (I always laughed at Benny's work), I do agree that it appears the director or whomever started to make one thing and altered it to be something else. I tried to watch it myself, and I didn't expend my full fourteen minutes on it. Goto: Edward Falzon: I'm No Movie Critic, But Innocence of Muslims is SOOO Bad!
