I did not realise he flew more than 1 190. Am i correct in thinking he only switched to the 190 in the lsat months of the war.

Never thought of it like that. Guess it was a case of flying whatever you could get your hands on.

I had heard that when was flying Jus, he would come in from one mision, jump straiht into another plane, and go back out. So, this would make it harder to pin a particular aicraft to a particular pilot.

Bish you are correct, and trying to pin a particualr a/c to a certain pilot in 1945 is almost impossible. For the Schlacht fliers you can now see why these crews put up so many missions as they were needed everywhere during the last chaotic days.....

Richtig Bish ! ;) Yes actually 9 books and counting all dealing with Luftwaffe themes. The largest will be a possible 2 volume set covering the Anti Mosquito operations done by the Luftwaffe at night; these covering the single engine Fw 190/Bf 109 units and finally Me 262 equipped kmdo Welter/10./NJG 11.
A book on Unternehmen Gisela on March 3-5th 1945, this when the night fighters flew over the UK on the RAF's return trip over their bases. Quite a lot of havoc was done by the German intruder force.
A book with co web-master Neil page on the Sturmgruppen. This may be for the Osprey Elite series. We are still putting things together as the JG 300 book is not ready for publication yet and we must wait on this.
Working closely with several German authors, one Christian Möller who will be putting massive book together on the German Night ground attack units, and I have given him my files on the 422nd and 425th night fighter squadrons as they ran up against the units NSG 1 and 2 in 44 and 45.
A seperate book on the Ju 88G-6 night fighter with personal interviews from crews with new pics and drawings.
Working with two former US bomber crewmen on the book covering the disastrous mission over Kassel on 27 September 1944. I have supplied the German info with interviews from former German pilots.
there are more but are being tweaked as to which way they will go....plus trying to revise our web-site so we can get it back on-line next spring.

    Well vielen dank !

as you can tell by the titles they are Luftwaffe specific and it is very hard to say how they will do. Unknown facets of WW 2 history they are.

I am also quite interested in aviation archaelogy as well and having correspondance with several Norwegian friends who have discovered the remains of 3 Ju 88's in the mountains. We have determined they are from Aufklarung Gr 100 and are removing old pieces not thouroughly rusted through for examination and documentation. So a small booklet may come out of this ...

    Now that sounds interesting.
I am sure those books will do well.

have you heard of a series by Greenhill called Lufwaffe At War. I have the first 16, and there are a couple more. I don't know how acurate the captions are, but they have some brillant photos.

Yes I do Bish....I have # 17 by the way, from Peter Smith on the Sea Eagles, as I was trying to hunt down some more info/pics for my Avatar showing 2./FAGr 5.

I think in this particular book the pics are out of order with the war years. have you seen possibly the # ? by Morten Jessen / Fw 190 Defending the Reich 1943-45 ? If so can you give me your impressions. I had a very hard time securing the # 17 as I had to go out of country to get it.

Sorry Erich, did not see your post. Ye, got that one. #13.

To me, the whole series seems excalant. ut i may be looking from them at a differen angle to you. I'm not so good at being able to tell if captions are right or if they are in the right order. ut there are alot of good pics. Including a few of Mistels, with one showing the war head being fitted. Again, i use these things for modeling. And for me, the stuff around the aircrat is an important as the planes themselves. These photos show e the sort of kit found aound plane, like ladders, wheel chocks, bomb carts and so on. nd this help me to make these parts as i can't buy them.

So, from my point, these books are excellent.

I have trouble geting them to. All the ones i have i got out of my book club. I only noticed they had done books over #16 because i looked at the website, and i'm thinking about getting the rest direct.

www.greenhillbooks.com if you want a look.

I just checked the site and realised i have missed the last 3, with another, on the Ju 52, out soon.I need to catch up

Cool Bish! Hey I thought you were going to be gone till October ?

anyway in that Fw 190 book on the Reich, does it mention JG 300 or Fw 190's of IV.Stum/JG 3 at all ? and does it show and belted ammo being put into the wings of any of the a/c ?

The 43-45 volme has a few hotos of JG 300 aircraft, inluding Schroderds Red 19 which i think i mentioned from the Osprey book.

The 39-43 volume has one photo in the back of an aircraft from I./JG 3, but thats it.

No pics of the guns being loaded unforunatly. Thats the sort of thing i am after. But both have several close ups of engines.

I may have to purchase the later volume just out of curiousity. Red 19, as I mentioned I have some info on and Schröder who does not like to give interviews let alone sign anything. I have a pic of the a/c without the tail rumpfband in red and one with the red band. Also details about the /ac from Schröder himself, but again not until the JG 300 book is released.....rats !
