Either later tonight or tomorrow morning I will post my brief AAR of the game I am in (joined as Canada after 1yr + of AI Control) which is basically a few screen shots. I've also been converted to using COUNTERS instead of the Animation in MP, so the screenies will look a bit different. On Sunday I hope to post another update, this one being of this Saturdays Session.

As i took over Canada, I had to cancel some Research and Construction that the AI had been conducting that was not beneficial to the Allies. For instance, Canada only had 4 Infantry Divisions. Nepal has 6.

I started to pump out Infantry Divisions, mostly with Artillery Brigades, fully aware of the upcoming War that Germany would launch. The Allies discussed tactics. We knew that the Germans would attack in October. If - IF - we could delay the Fall of France until the winter, then we would buy Russia some extra time before they too were invaded. If France fell before the Winter, then Russia would be attack months too early.

This is a shot of the Canadian Army, minus 6 Divisions already boarded on Transports.

Here is an image showing the unity of the Allies - Canadian Troops on Canadian and French Transports with DD Escorts.

Not long after arriving in France, the British and Canadian Expeditionary Forces witnessed the fast, crushing invasion of Belgium, bringing a massive German Army - comprising of Infantry and Panzers - onto the border.

18 Canadian Divisions, originally ordered to defend Dunkirk, were then ordered by the British High Command to move inland to prevent the Germans from cutting off a British Army. The British Army survived - mostly - but the Canadian Army suffered greatly. Of the 19 divisions deployed to France, 13 were completely destroyed - over 100,000 men - in the Debacle at Dieppe.

The good news is that some of the Canadians and a good portion of the British Army managed to retreat back to England. French troops are still holding France, though its only a matter of time before they too fall. French Troops in Southern France came within 4 hrs of encircling 10 German Divisions which would have wiped them out. Close, yet so far.

Historically, the Germans let their airforce attack the BEF at Dunkirk, instead of sending in their Panzers. In this game, the German player made the same mistake. The Canadian and British Forces had been whipped in their first engagement and were on full retreat. Had the German player, with vastly superior and faster forces, shot out along the coast, instead of attacking conservatively, there would be no Canadian Army and the British Losses would have been vast. France would also likely be gone by the end of October.

Nice!!! Do you play multiplayer much?

What are your plans now? Or is the game over? I don't know how MP works. Do you just play the "scnerious"? Or can you play a campaign?

HMMM.....wow..neat So how does that work... Everyone playing..decide a day and a time..and play for a certain time..then save and quit till the next time. What about game speed, does everyone have to be at the same speed?

And jeez it would make it really hard for who ever is playing as germany..as you would need to keep a lot more divisions on the west coast as I would assume a human player would be a lot more aggressive than the AI.

Interesting. I noticed that the Germans did not invade the Netherlands, a move I do as well.

How does the allied air force match up to the German? Can you win the air war? Also make sure that you keep defenders in all the English provinces.

Does Germany have a navy? Is Italy axis or allies, so many questions.

Not sure about the Air Forces (JT, don't make two posts, keep everything in one post - EDIT button) but Germany did not invade Netherlands.

No Armor yet - like I said, AI controlled Canada prior to my join up.

    Italy is Axis.

Germany does have a Navy, but I think a good portion of it has been sunk out in the Atlantic - the US is helping us find their navy ;)

The UK player didnt play smart, and Africa was left completely open so the Italians have the Suez. I am redeploying to South Africa, as it appears we are going to march through Ethiopia back to Africa.

We play at a certain time on saturdays. Host sets the game speed and saves game.

So as Canada...you have plans to africa back by your self?

What about a landing in Europe again? Or do you wait until Germany attacks Russia to do that.

    Australia. Land of the Kangaroo.

Australia also has about 18 or so Infantry + Cav Divisions, along with 6 TPs and 9 Naval Ships. Not bad at all. But what to do with them?

The Italians control the Suez and have moved as far as Jerusalem, but have gone no further. Why? This is why:

Fighting in France has been fierce, and its January 1940. The Canadian Sacrifice is not in vain after all. The Italians, though, are surprised by a French Counterattack that cuts them off. Rumors about but supposedly 15 - FIFTEEN - Italian Divisions are wiped out!

Good news for Australia, as Australia leads the Invasion of Italian Controlled Ethiopia. Several Australian Divisions lead the way, capturing a major port and Airfield, before some NZ Cavalry arrive.

The captured territory belongs to the UK but Australia doesn't appreciate that. A second Australian Invasion force, this one intent on Annexing Ethiopia to make it part of the Australian Empire, lands in Mogadishu, its objective to head North while securing Territories and defeating any Italian Armies in the vicinity.

I am supprised that they didnt let you take it so that you are straped with the TC burden. Good luck in Ethiopia.

Are you at war with Japan?

    Didn't let me take what?

Not at war with Japan - its only January of 1940. They are bidding there time and wont attack until the events trigger that bring the USA into the war. Thats when things should get interesting for me and my Australian/NZ armies and tiny Navy. I'm counting on the US to provide TPs and Naval protection when the time comes.

No, you're right. Massuwa which starts the game as Italian is now British despite Australian troops invading. This is because the neighboring territories are British. However, Mogadishu is bordered by more Italian provinces so it has become Australian. In order to annex Ethiopia, I need its capital and only VP to be Australian - thus i landed in Mogadishu to perform this task.

Yeah, havent progressed into Africa yet, but do have some Cav that should hopefully speed things up. IC minimal but good enough for me - not to mention resources.
