"Holding these middle eastern countries together is not an easy task, and as outsiders it is easy to miss why certain systems have developed the way they have. How long did it take the US to go from rebelling against the British, to giving African Americans equal rights? Why is 200 years good enough for the descendants of Europeans in the US, but the Middle East is expected to go from tribal systems and borders imposed by the Great Power's demarcation lines of "influence" to fully functioning democracies in a period of less than 60 years?"

The calendar is the same for all Man...An ancient culture should be more evolved, compared to a newer Western one. ..Seems those old areas are regressing, actually impeding evolution.

Bet that China and Russia are just as concerned about religious infiltration more than any political one.
In this, we could agree and form a relationship in order to discourage extreme religious fanatics. Open networks of communication, become familiar and friendly.

I think China is afraid most that the regional areas want to become separate nations. That´s why thei politics is so far back in certain things. Wonder what the Russians think about the cheap Chinese work force when they lose their jobs...

What China is afraid of seems to be current U.S. Foreign policy in the China Sea.

Some mention of the Russain Chinese relationship in this article:

More that they might be afraid of the US becoming more of a factor in preventing their rather obviously illegal attempt to annex areas there.

As a sidenote Russia has sent some 300-500 Marines and built an airfield for choppers, probably some jets and some recon planes in the western coast of Syria. Isis seems to be rather close already so I guess it will take alot more to save the Syrian government that has co-operated with Russia for a long time.

Following is a video shot by Svaboda themselves as they assault a CEO of a television network which reported on the group.

Surely the democracy in Ukraine is flawed. It's still better than in Russia though...
