Time for some additional nitpickicking on behalf of my beloved Penn State. I keep hearing that PSU has played nobody worth note. While I will admit that our offense struggles much of the time, we have played a much tougher schedule than we are giving credit for. According to rivals .com we have played against the #1 and #2 defenses in the country in Alabama and Temple respectfully (who knew Temple's D was that good). Illinois sits at #15 nationally. Is it really any wonder why we have trouble scoring? This all adds up to having a tougher schedule than all but six teams ahead of PSU in the BCS (Virginia Tech, Oklahoma, Boise State, Clemson, LSU, and Nebraska). The final four weeks are the fifth toughest remaining schedule in the nation and it includes a bye week. I realize we aren't a great team, but no one expected us to be sitting on a two game conference lead with three to go. All three remaining games are against top 25 defenses as well so don't expect much scoring. Please let's stop digging PSU for playing such a weak schedule.

Was glad to see Wisconsin drop two in a row and Stanford-USC was great to watch.

LSU-Alabama is gonna be epic this weekend. I really can't wait. I got to see Alabama live in week two and man do they look good. Gotta admit I haven't watched much of LSU though.

I thought that was against Florida. LSU Fake Punt for TD Taunting Penalty vs Florida 2011

Personally, I thought the penalty was all a bunch of BS.
    Yep, that is about right.
Let's talk erratic and see how quickly the Crimson Tide comes up. Six to six at the half against Tennessee, geez Louise, then letting Florida score on the first play of the game.
I do like what Coach Dooley said a few days before the Third Saturday in October when asked about Alabama, "Don't score first, it pisses them off."

I just hope the losing team does not beat up the winning team so badly that they can't bring the trophy to the SEC...for the sixth year in a row.

Well, the Tide/Tigers game was certainly the least offense involved college game between powerhouses I can remember. Great if you are in love with defense, to the exclusion of all else. Who would have thunk that Saban could spend all that time scouting and forget to find any decent place kickers. Usually an OT game has more excitement in the thing.

Well I'm relieved in how it turned out. I was beginning to have my doubts from time to time. The special teams were a definite factor in the game. Those first two field goals that Alabama missed and the third attempt that was blocked kept us in the game. And that 79 yard punt that we got off helped a great deal too.

And that was the first time I ran out of beer at a game party.

The bookies sure lost their a$$'s. All week the line was 5 in favor of Alabama.

Yep....four missed field goals and had one made it...

That interception on the one foot line and the terrible block in the back on the interception return. A lot of wasted opportunities.

Yes there were. Alabama ran over LSU all night until the got inside the 30, then our defense remembered they were in a football game. If we could have forced a punt before they crossed mid-field, maybe we could have got into field goal range or maybe got into the end zone properly. Our two quarterback system sort of fell apart on us big time. Good thing we face a division 2 team next week. And I sure hope Auburn beats Alabama so we don't have to play them in the BCS Bowl.

You know Penn State played in a similar game like that this season. Still being told how bad a game it was. I watch this and the SEC is great?

Was disappointed in Nebraska's loss to Northwestern. Really wanted a crack next week against a top 10 team. And after Ohio State struggled, I really think winning two to make the conference championship is far more realistic than it was last week.
Now if everyone will excuse me I must go puke after reading about more of these allegations against our school. God, couldn't we just pay a quarterback instead.

I do hope that it is not true, especally the part about Joe Paterno knowing about it and notifying the police.

From, what I have heard from a source close to the university, JoePa did more than what is being reported at the moment. He has no doubt the he will be vindicated in the coming weeks. I'm a bit less certain.

I hate this so much for y'all, Mike, because Penn State is, well, Penn State, one of my favorite teams. I considered it an honor for Alabama to play against them.

What has apparently transpired is unconscionable and it is terrible that it was allowed to happen, then go on for so long. Even though Coach Paterno is great coach and a legend, if all he did is relay the accusation to the AD and not report it to the police department, then he shares guilt. I hope so much that it is not so.

    I'm so sad for y'all.

Yeh. Very disturbing. Kids as young as 10. A custodian witnessed an act in progress. I'd have charged and beaten that purp with a bat or anything handy. There is a special place for child molesters in prison... I hope the prestige, fame, money of the offenders do not allow any respite in their full persecution.

The announcement was made this morning, JoePa isn't going to get to play out the rest of the season either, he is fired. Along with the president.

Actually, that happened last night. Both men went out. A sad day for PSU and football. Personally, I don't see how anyone from the football staff is immune.

Lou, I really hate this for everyone involved, except the perp. His days in prison are going to be rather tough, which is a good thing.

Read back over my posts, I had nothing but admiration for PSU and Coach Joe Paterno. I still admire the Nittany Lions, I'm not so sure about Paterno. I need to read more about it.

I have no sympathy for Sandusky. I think they all should resign, not only for Paterno, but because they are all tainted by Sandusky. I just don't see how they didn't know. That said, it's still my university, and I retain my pride in its football team. Sandusky left the program years ago, so I don't visit any retribution on current members of the team.
