hmmmmmmmmmm I wonder if Otto/Peppy are working on a special WW2f.com forum members T-shirt . hhhhhhmmmmm I wonder ?
Apparently I've received a small field-promotion to 'Super-Moderator', so I was wondering if I should alter my avatar slightly to reflect my new duties, something along the lines of..... ( Only kidding ! )
Martin just ask Peppy to put Rambo figure in a Mosquito and voilá your new avatar wiil be ready....Poor old Sylvester would be shocked though...
That's good - I seem have sorted out my posting-an-image problem. My browser had somehow set itself to block all my Photobucket images - very frustrating if you're not a computer buff and don't know where to look. So normal service should be resumed...I hope.....
Wonderful shot  , That very view is engraved on my mind as one of my most intense 'ww2 related' experiences when she came over our heads at treetop height at Kirby Hall a few years ago. We were camped near the reenactment she was due for and were in the exact right spot where she banked around much lower than normal for a public display in order to line up for the flyover from a hilly area; bomb doors down and the amazing sound of the engines is something I'll never forget. Cheers, Adam.
Slightly O/T ( sorry, Otto ! ) but you're quite right, Adam. I took the pic at Duxford's Legends last Summer and of course, at airshows the BBMF have to obey the 'rules' ; only flying parallel to the crowdline, no low stuff, etc. But when I took my Dad to the unveiling of the Hunsdon Airfield memorial in 2005 which was attended by a small number of enthusiasts and veterans, the Lanc simply blasted directly overhead at very low level ie you could see the rivets ! It was great to see the veterans laughing like teenagers and it was also great to see the 'rules' bent for these smaller events.....
Take your pick Za, the current flag: :flag_canada:, or the WWII era one :flag_canada_ww2:. Thanks to Joshua over at Jacorre.com for these great flag icons.
Thank you Otto, I suppose it would be more appropriate to use the previous flag, otherwise instead of the old hammer and sickle we would be using the red-white-blue for the Russians! But I'd leave this decision for the Canadians in this forum, it's their flag after all
We'll soon have the options for most any flag, current or WWII era. Joshua over at Jacorre.com has not only allowed us to use all of his flag icons, he has agreed to make us some WWII era flags! He's not only a great artist and graphic designer, he's a generous type.
