The only info I have that the "Sunshine" was a HMS carrier during the war and lost. "Sunshine" was only the NICKNAME used by the lads on the ship. My question is what was the offical name of that carrier if anyone knows!?

I believe that's it for lost (HMS) Carriers.
I've been to their sites, and through the naval books I have, and found no reference to "Sunshine".
A Canadian "Tribal" class DD came up (HMRCS) Haida came up under "Sunshine"...why I don't know.
    Sorry I couldn't help.

I only knew about the HMS Renown and the HMS Repuls, known as the Repair and Refit! However these don't make the list. T.A.Gardner, you who know everything or at least almost die trying, where are you in our time of need?

I don't know why I keep looking, I guess it bothers me.
Are you sure it was a carrier?
    When, where was it lost?
Another something came up when I was searching the other day.
    A Light Criuser....maybe?
The 9th with the name "Gloucester".
    5 battle honors.
Sunk May 22nd (by Ju 88s&87s) 1941 in the Eastern Mediterranean during the invasion of Crete.
Why it came up out of cyber-space when searching for "Sunshine" was never clear.

The RN carrier losses for the war are:

    Hermes
    Ark Royal
    Eagle
    Courageous
    Glorious
    Avenger
    Dasher

That might help for a start.
