Only been there twice...both journeys from Orlando to Disney....Both drivers offered to take me to see some wild alligators....

Blimey I was on holiday...why do I want to see wild alligators...

But now I know why they were wild...the crocs are invading right? Does Carl know?

I live off of 535 as well. It is a small world. You must be up near the huge LDS temple.

    Not me!

That's just because you live in that high falutin town you live in! I have seen many a wild gator, including one in my front yard and several in my community. A friend also had a 12 foot gator in her backyard but I did not get too close to that one! Another friend wrecked his car running over a 14 footer on I-4 a few years back.

    As for snakes . . . .

Too bad they don't have that policy with the other 'outsiders' we have here...

I live right up on the Windermere/WinterGarden Border...right by the Winter Garden Cemetery...actually, right across (pretty much) from that new park (Baseball/Soccer Field) they're building.

I have seen a few Armadillos and Coons, but thats about it.

We've had gators, all manner of slithering creatures (including several snakes that were more than 6 feet long), bobcats, and even a wild pig!

I've just read that Florida has raised its minimum age for driving . . . a good start! (Especially since my son would have been old enough to get his license in January but now it appears that he must wait an additional year! I feel like I have been given an extra year without the terror of teaching him to drive!

What is the Min. Age? If I remember correctly, in NJ, you had to be 16 to get your permit, then when you turned 17 (and had had permit for at least 6 months I think) you got a restricted license. At 21, it became unrestricted.

I could have just made that up, but I'm pretty sure thats how it worked.

It is 15 to get a permit but it is now moving up to 17 to get a license, or so I am told. The license is restricted until age 18 I think.

They do require a 4 hour driving course to get the permit at 15 -- that is sufficient impediment to ensure that my son will resist getting a permit and for that I am grateful!
