How about a "Homefront" forum, with subdivisions for participating countries? I know that it would be tough to include all countries, but the major participants would be nice, and smaller ones lumped together into regional forums. There is a good example over on ww2t to look at for examples. I am picking up interest on homefront experiences, possible from my various visits to the WW2 Museum down in New Orleans, and from stories from my parents and grand parents when they were still around.

We certainly discuss and that sounds like a good idea.

I'd love a "Homefront" forum, American politics and isolationism are among my primary interests. I also like the militaristic adverts of the day.

Yes, bazookas, tanks, grenades and machine guns are really cool to read about, but the underlying causes of why they got used is pretty interesting to me too. Not all the time you know, but from time to time....

I'm looking forward to a home front forum myself.

Resistance, POW escapes, coast watchers, SOE/OSS, and other "behind the lines" actions?

    Yeah,
And perhaps a thing for civilian spectators also?
eg people whose houses were bombed or something like that.

but i think it can be condensed into POW, SOE(AKA Special Operatives Alias Spies ), Raiders, And Non Combatants (Medical officers, War correspondants etc..)& Civilians (as mentioned ?)

But yeah, thats the general idea.

    Regards

Under the civilians / Non-combatants section.

Basically the war through the eyes of the rest of the world.

Civilians, Air raid wardens, DP's, Jews in camps, refugees .... etc.

    Regards

Can we have a South American, or maybe a 'Americas' section where the Economic, diplomatic, spy, and sabotage campaigns could be discussed? Not a large subject, but largely ignored and worth a look.

The ASW effort out of Brazil was vital, IMHO.

One more suggestion. A subforum for "Important People"? William Donovan, Noel Coward, The Dragon Lady, and less lights like FDR, Joseph Dzugashvili, and WSC?

Yes, agreed. I did some profile threads on several top nazis like the Krupps etc back in 2003-2004. They could be inserted here so that people would know more than just the "usual" nazis like Hitler,Göring etc as the money men were very influential in making the nazi program work...as a matter of fact essential.

"One more suggestion. A subforum for "Important People"? "

Most history forums have a biography section, one is certainly needed here
