A list of units has now been posted in each team's forum.

 

I can see both forums - am I allowed to bet on the outcome?

(only kidding folks. I intend to follow what is happening out of interest though)

 

That is the prerogative of admins, which implies some integrity on behalf of the admins, especially if one participates in a team.

 

Pity, I missed the start of the first game.

It'll be fun to see how this progresses. Of course, like Ricky, I have an unfair advantage in that, but that will only make things more interesting...

I have to admit I have been helping the Allied team a little by providing some clarifications on the game rules and some historical details that were not clear. However, I will not interfere with their planning or their operations at all. Christian, could you please go through what I posted in the Allied Team section to make sure it is in line with the game rules you've posted?

Everything looks fine. Of course, if the Axis team has any technical questions, or otherwise seeks clarification on certain points, they're welcome to ask in their team forum.

I'll give the teams until some time sunday to ask questions, before we start the game.

 

Which units do I command?

 

Along with Man and Siberian Black, you command all the Axis units in the unit list. There are no specified units for each player, making this a true team effort, and much more like a high command would work.

Of course, the teams can decide to distribute the units if they wish, but my expectation is that this would harm the final outcome, since only one high command order can be issued per day.

 

A situation report has been posted in each team's forum. Please report back within 72 hours from this post (2007-10-25T12:00:00Z). Any technical questions are still welcome.

 

I have one - how do the players factor in naval & air support? Is there a handy list of units available (particularly air)? Is such a list needed?

 

Not really. Air and naval support will largely handle itself, in that naval support didn't play any direct role in the battle, and air support would be requested by the units in the field rather than send specifically by the high command. The only significant air support involvement will be pre-assault attacks, i.e. airborne artillery.

 

Since neither team has posted in their respective forums, I would like to ask if people are still interested?

I don't understand why none of the six members involved have posted any concrete plans. As it stands, the Allies have no more than the vague outline of a plan, while the Axis lag behind even that...
