A portrait taken by the Daily Mail in 1944 of a blockade buster, James Edward Conway, of the Gay Corsair, one of the British merchant ships that ran the gauntlet on Germany's doorstep to bring important supplies and passengers from Sweden. In 24 year's at sea he had gained a fine collection of tattoo marks, including a permanent pin-up girl.
