    I'm sure I posted this a while back, but I'm damned if I can find it.
    Anyway, 78 British, 85 German, 1 American, 5 Turkish, dozens of Russian and 444 French generals were killed, according to this old thread on AHF.

    Yes, great book, I have it in my collection. Always a good one to shoot down the usual "no-generals-got-killed-in-that-war" idiots.
