This guy is a Panzer Pioneer. That means his unit is Battalion in size. I don't know with what parent unit though-would have to look through Mitchams book.

C are you going by what appears to be black edge on his shoulder straps ? actually I have a larger more clear shot saved on my PC and there is a camo cover in grey over the straps, and the cypher is a black 300 sleeve over the straps as well. He definately looks like Stug material to me

Hi E, nope, a Panzer Pioneer would also have the same style of tunic because he is in a motorized engineering unit which is in some motorized division-and not that im trying to be snide on it--the word Panzer-gives it away as that he's in a motorized unit ;-)) ;-)) ;-)). I know that aint always the rule of thumb but, from what I can see, this man is definately serving in a Battalion-sized unit-as per his unit cyphers. Now, he could also be detached for service elsewhere and with a small unit from his parent unit-the: Pz Pi Btn ;-))

Anyway, if I can find time to think about it tonight, i'll try to look up and see what I can find on his unit--providing they are listed-as sometimes IS not the case. Case in point: I can't find out which division the 62nd Panzer Pioneer Battalion was in. I had high hopes of someone here knowing but never got a reply to my question. I KNOW these guys were not with the 62nd I.D (later) the 62nd VGD. I also know that the numberings of battalions related with the parent division is as confusing as hell. ;-))
