I don't really know that much about them, just that they put on battle gear and knock each other about with gusto..and that can't be bad(at least not to this old Marine- think R. Lee Ermy) :D

Sure it does. We're both old Marines a bit beyond our prime but still as salty as ever :D

This is called a severe case of culture shock. Never mind about Martha..you really don't want to know about her...boring... ;)

I knew him. I've only seen the movie once, which was umm, five years ago maybe? But every time FMJ is on TV, our TV guide repeats the same anecdote about how R. Lee Ermey was selected to play the drill sergeant in this movie, so I kind of remember his name by now.

For those who are interested, the anecdote tells of how Ermey recorded a full 15 minutes of swearing, raging and insulting for his audition, and this impressed the board so much that many of the rants he has in the movie are uncut segments of the tape he used for the audition. Could be a myth.

The site looks fun, but I had to quit when Ermey said I should leave if I had any problem with the mention of God or with the Pledge of Allegiance. Can't ignore the man's direct orders... ;)

Well, one doesn't apply to you. The pledge is for Americans.
Ermey and I have some things in common (we may even have crossed paths in the Marines) but it's all in fun really as far as I'm concerned.
