Rifle 1.JPG German rifle chambered in 8mm Mauser. It was taken from a dead German in Italy. The sling isn't original. Would be great if anyone could identify it for me.

Sporterized K98k. This is a standard-issue German K98k rifle put into a civilian stock with both the front and rear sight replaced with civilian models. A sling swivel has also been added to the barrel. "Sporterizing" was a common practice after the war, when military surplus rifles could be obtained much cheaper than a newly-made civilian hunting rifle.
