Dang Skua, you know too much. It looks like a captured or copied Bf-109.

Harvey Heyworth, a test-pilot who was 6 ft tall. Which is why the canopy was removed. The aircraft is a Bf 109E-3.

Wow, the Bf-109 must have been even more cramped than they claim it was, if the canopy had to be removed for someone 6 feet tall... I mean, I'm 6ft 4 now, I'd never fit. :D

A fairly large number of Bf109s were shot down over England during the Battle of Britain, and a few were rebuilt, either shot down in a fairly undamaged condition and repaired or rebuilt from canabalised airframes.

Quiet a few aircraft on both sides were taken because pilots got lost and landed on enemy air fields by accidents.

OF course it is..after all, the Wirraway was a license built North American NA. 16 , also designated NA 33. The "Boomerang" was an Australian design which incorporated 64% of the parts of the "Wirraway", something CAC did in order to save time in design, productionand in order to utilize the applied kwledge it gained from the manufactre of he NA 33..-In fac, it shows a faint family ressemblence to anoher fighter aircraft derived from the NA 16 family: the NA-50. First flown on 29 May 1942, the Boomerang was poweed by a 1200 Pratt &Whitney S34G the "Boomerang" had a max. speed of 300 mph,a climb rate of 1550 ft.minute, a range of 500 miles and an armament which cnsisted ox 2 x 20 mm cannon -While it was no match for the Zero, it filled a vital gap in the defense of Australia. Here's a pic of a couple of "Boomerangs"
