Notable and Artistic Monuments for RAF Crew

    B-24 Liberator 42-50610 Memorial Flemish-Brabant - Leefdaal Belgium

    This monument is to honor the crew of a B-24 Liberator (42-50610) bomber of the USAAF, which crashed on 26 November 1944, on return from a mission to Germany.

    One crew member was killed. The monument was inaugurated on 20 May 2010 in the presence of the three crewmembers who are still alive and U.S. Ambassador Howard W. Gutman. It was founded by the association Leuven Centraal.

    The monument "Freonen Foar Altyd" is a reminder of the crashes of the British Lancaster R5748 that crashed on 27-06-1942 (see other monument above)
    and the American B-24 Bomber, the Sack-time Sally, which crashed on 26-11-1943. (Netherlands, the - Friesland - Opeinde)

    Darwin International Airport Plaque commemorates those who served in the B24 Liberator Squadrons in the South West Pacific area during World War two.

    The plaque is situated on a Remembrance Wall at the Museum.

    sank German shipping off Norway during the Second World War.

    All seven crew members lost their lives 23-06-1943.

    So, so sad that one of the NAME Squadrons of WW2 still, to this day, does not have a dedicated website. Not even a wiki page. :cry:
