    Thanks for the comments.

He is improving much, but still has much to go. He is still not at work yet, but he threw away his wheelchair a few weeks ago, vowing not to return to it. His long-term goal is to walk without any aides, other than a light brace on his knee. That is long into the future.

    Urqh,
It is good to see you lurking about the joint again, adding your interesting comments liberally. When I was a new nurse, I worked on floor that treated your problem. I know the difficulties you have faced and will be facing in the future. I am not envious.

He is Krystal. He is a hard-driving man and is working hard to get well. Looks like he may be going back to work next month, a little more than 6 months after the incident.

That is so scary, that something that seems like no big deal can turn into something so bad. I worked with a young guy once that was maybe 20 and had injured his knee about 2-3 yrs earlier. All of a sudden it got this hard painful bump so he went and had it looked at. It turned out to be some kind of cancer in the bone. The injury must have aggravated the cells and he developed cancer. Last I heard he was doing fine and they had got the cancer stopped/cured.
