First surpises ... apparently no plane from the sisters attacked HMS Dorsetshire and HMS Cornwall or US ships at Pearl Harbor (their targets were the airfields for both waves) !!!
On the other hand there's evidence HMS Hermes is a victim of the "terrible sisters" as the Akagi and Soryu planes arrived late and are reported attacking different targets (but can't find evidence of what the 18 D3A1 from Hiryu attacked, possibly HMAS Vampire).
It now looks a possibility one of Ozawa's cruisers holds the record.

According to The Big E by Edward Peary Stafford the Enterprise sank 71 ships, damaged more than 200 others, and shot down 911 enemy planes.

As for an American submarine, The USS Tang (SS 306) is credited with sinking 31 ships totaling 231,500 t. 32 ships if you count the fact that she sank herself. She also had what Alex Kershaw described in Escape from the Deep as one of the most successful torpedo spreads of the war, sinking four Japanese ships with six fish.

However if the same criteria is being used for vessels here that is being used over on the kbismarck forum then there are likely a fair amount more. IE patrol boats and such were included over there.
