    Hello!
I'm generally very interested in the field equipment, uniforms, and weaponry worn and used by the Red Army during the Great Patriotic War, circa 1941,42,43.

Not my area generally speaking, but AFAIK their standard riflr, Mosin-Nagat was very similar in design, fuction, and effectiveness with most turn of the century bolt action rifles used by most combatants. They did use a very suitable gun oil to prevent freeze up's during winter. Also I saw a test done which showed how far more effective their standard uniform's kept their troops warmer than their German counterparts.

Anyone know the Russian field equipment get-up? Or the uniform types?
