I take it we met the goal for the server move then?

We have the funds to get the job done.

To reduce costs I've needed to be extremely specific in what I'm asking the tech to do, opting to do some of the less technical pieces myself rather than having the professional do it. The number of people who have the skill do do what we need at the price we can pay isn't huge, and if another job comes across their path at a better rate they will understandably do that job first. I'm negotiating with someone now who has a good track record, and hopefully his schedule can accommodate.

Would send 25 Canadian. Send me an e- WW2F 25 dollar war bond (that has no value). Something i can put on wall/desk. Want something official/old looking...i'll print it (black and white).
Would bet it would be a surefire money maker.

I really like the idea, I'll file that away for future reference.

We are in motion! A technical guru is hired, and a new server awaits. More details very soon.

I've been remiss here, and I apologize. I get at least $36 of pleasure a day out of this site, so that amount per year is a bargain. I'm now a Patron.

Do you send reminders when the year is up? I know damned well I won't remember on my own.

I hope you do track annual members and send a polite IM when it's ending. Do you? If not, you should probably look at that.

Yes. Each Patron member will have an indicator on their profile and will get a reminder when the time is up. The length of time for a normal patron contribution is one year, but it will be extended by at least a month for all members who contributed prior to the move. Some gave more and will have a different lengths of membership reflected.

To be honest, I've no idea what payments paypal will accept. They do seem flexible though.

Otto, i have been using PayPal since it came out. I had a small bank account, for hobbies, toys and I tied my PayPal account to it. Thought I try to keep a small positive PP balance if it runs over it debits my hobby bank account. Both PP and the bank keep me up to date online. I have never paid PP directly so cannot help on that. never had a minutes trouble with them but in the US and numerous purchases abroad. Even got a PP payment from Finland ! I thought all there accounts were frozen most of the time !

At long last I will be tagging Patron profiles with an indication that they are supporters of the site. This will be a rolling process as I check names of the list. I will be following up with each and every one of the Patrons to let them know the updates have been made.

I take it you have to manually select this - IE it doesn't know who is a Patron automatically?

I've got to upgrade all the accounts, which is done account by account. When this is done, your account will have the same insignia is Gaines' (gtblackwell) account. In the future, the forum software will do this automatically.
