Glenn Beck is an interesting chap, I've caught a couple of his news programs etc, very, erm, interesting.
pssst, Texson66 got the first two right, but that business about Kennedy and the "Ich bin ein Berliner" quote is an urban legend of sorts. Even "Wiki" has that bit of mis-information right. Ich bin ein Berliner - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Read it, and see why his putting the "ein" in the quote was grammatically correct.
See Clint, your out of the team, its as Slip says a connection because of its infamous connection....Errr....is that catch 22.. So now we have Bigfun as President, Texson as vice, and Slipdigit as Sec of State....Clint is their fob to the democrats as media advisor. Who wants defence? or defense as you foreigners call it? I nominate Carl...He's pretty peaceful.
I find him almost scary crazy. I've watched a few minutes of a couple of his programs, and I had to switch stations. I found his comments dangerously out of whack.
It seems to me that, if someone disagrees with him, that person is an enemy. I try to allow others to hold positions that do not agree with mine, but he seems intent on demonizing anyone with whom he disagrees, but most especially any form of Democrat. Do I disagree with many conservative ideas? Yes, but I don't consider them my enemies. I like to think that the US is secure enough to allow disagreement without the level of rancor that seems to have become the hallmark of the last 20 years or so. I'm secure enough in my own beliefs that, if someone disagrees with me, I would like to know why we differ. Glenn Beck doesn't appear to understand that.
I think also his broadcasts, which seem to involve him standing looking tearfully at the camera, apologising for 'cholking up' and then announcing he 'loves his country' are very strange. Firstly I think anyone who cries on air without some damn good reason (see parents who have lost children and similar) has to ask themselves some serious questions. Secondly I think anyone who pretends to cry on air to get people to believe them clearly has something wrong with them. He appeals to peoples most base elements, particularly anger, in order to suck people in, that instantly marks him as fairly vile IMHO. There is always the fact that he reminds me rather of this: YouTube - Lewis Prothero Speech (V for Vendetta)
