Why the hell is the BBC broadcasting news in the US?

 

Has done for a long time Chad....They have a rolling news channel same outside reports but different news anchors at times. Do same in Mainland Europe.

Jump on the Gatwick Express or Heathrow Express and you get it in your carriage and on the plane and at the airport and at the hotel and if your really lucky in the back of the taxi...Its what you pay your licence for mate.

 

What a waste of cash. World service I understand and admire, news channel to the seppos is coal to Newcastle, oh hang on, ciabatta to Islington.

 

Well I've shifted alot more to the right compared to what I was the last time I posted about anything political. I'd describe myself as moderatly right of center with libertarian ideals, but I'll probably register Republican.

That aside my question is to any Texans on here, do you take Gov. Perry's statment about succession seriously or view it as plausible?

 

AMEN to that. Beck has his problems but, he is good enough at his craft to really listen to those who he does not agree with--something I have yet to see any liberal democrat do with the exception of Alan Combs.

Heres a little saying that I came up with in dealing with Hannity and Combs. I would most definately want Sean Hannity as te leader of this great Country-and I sure would have Alan Combs as my Defending Attorney-had I ever be in need of one. Glen Beck would be the Speaker of the House-if I had my way? Bill O'Reilly would be Ambassador to the UN.

Anyway, I couldn't agree more with SMLE on these posts.

 

I also like O'Rielly and Sean Hannity.

 

I had not been aware that Gov Perry made such remarks but--I really doubt he meant it. One of the few things I actually do like about Perry is that he tries his best to keep Fed fingers out of State Pies. Also, he's not easily "bought" as some other State Gove are/were. I also like the Gov of Louisiana and I hope he tries running for office of the Pres next time around. He's another who does not take any BS or bullying.

 

They are good ;-)) and if you like them, you would also like Eric von Wade. He has a 3 hr radio talk show in Corpus Christi. Many people feel that he shoud go National-but he likes the area and his Parents and Grandparents live there as well.

 

I see his remarks as they were intended. An expression of disgruntlement by saying that Texas will secede unless the washington gets its act together.

There is no reason to secede but given the pattern of the federal government of late, it does not sound like a bad idea.

I think this is sort of another Stand at the Alamo kind of thing. This reminds me-have you ever read the book: The Eyes of Texas? Reading about his comment reminds of of that book.

Hi Ike, it's a good one for a book of Fiction. It's been I guess about 20 years or so since i read it and I don't remember much but, one thing of interest, is that the Battleship-USS Texas-has been taken out of mothballs) and is used as the main Weapon of choice.

 

Blimey...is that possible then? How simple would that be in reality? I of course dont know anything about your constitution and am not being pedantic, its a real question..

Is it really possibel for any of your states to just opt out of the Union then?
