    I don't believe there is any explaining to be done. My comments about Illinois having high casualty numbers was just an observation. I hope it wasn't taken as a "Our State vs Your State" kind of thing. It is a Our Nation kind of thing. There are many possibilities for the percentages but the main 'percentage' we should look at is the one that compares the total US population to those who give a damn and place themselves in harm's way.

    And I think it is a story in itself that a non-state suffers over 8 casualties per 100000 and a state may only suffer less than a half person per 100,000 as this shows a more accurate picture than simple state figures. This does not in any way diminish the contributions of those who have given all for our freedom.

    And that even the "lowest" percentage represents people. Too many people.
