    The Merchantmen press on in this convoy which brought precious cargoes into port, while the R.A.F kept watch with a far seeing eye above them. Hour after hour the great flying-boats cruised to and fro on patrol ready to pounce should a U-boat surface to make an attack. This impressive photograph was taken from a Short Sunderland as it flew above this convoy sailing in the Atlantic.
