I've heard that there is still a lot of resentment in France about how Britain sunk most of their Fleet, to save it falling into Nazi hands. My great aunt is married to a French Paratrooper (who won France's top award in the War) and when anyone asks him about this he just shrugs (in true Gallic style!). So can anyone here enlighten me? Thanks
Wouldn't surprise me that the French hold a grudge for this, but at the time the British government thought this was the best to do.
