I would like to claim being fluent in Dutch, but I'm no better with Dutch than I am with Flemish or German. However, I have a whole lot of Dutch blood in me, so maybe I have some sort of psychic connection with the language.

So, do folk from Holland refer to themselves as dutchmen, or Netherlanders?
The whole idea of the "Netherlands" causes me to conjure this image of wraith-like figures wrapped in fog.
    Spooky.
    I'm confused.
    heh-heh.

The Low Lands. Probably related to the English words "nether" and "beneath."
