I would like to present this great diorama of the U-201 built in Spain for Andrea Miniatures; it exceeds 2 meters long. The model and the diorama: http://ww2colorphotos.webs.com/models_submarine_01.htm (9 pages) Some explanations about its building: http://ww2colorphotos.webs.com/making_of_submarine.htm and http://ww2colorphotos.webs.com/dock_accessory_01.htm (2 pages) Greets
That is one model I would truly love to see. Huge and exceedingly well done. I feel very lucky to have gone through U 505 in Chicago, a type 9. Thought larger than a 7 it felt very confining, cannot imagine being 100 metes down under an attack. The USS Drum in Mobile, AL, US feels commodious by comparison. But the US boats had to cross the Pacific. Thanks for posting. Gaines
I remember seeing this in model stories when I was a kid with my grandpa, who was babysitting my brother and I... Except we never bought one (mainly due to money, but also because the first words out of my mom's mouth when she saw that Uboat would have been, "damn it, Bill xD)
