I'm with Falkens...I thought exactly same thing....Bugger...I thought Italy would be Italy and plough thru em....But Spain..what can you say...they made it look like Italy did not even turn up...Bit like England Italy game in second half...this time Italy were England for 90 minutes though...and had no Hart in goal. Well done Spain...But at one of our BBC commentators said...I'd love to see this team take on 1970 Brazil team.

One thing I was sure beforehand that if anybody it´d be Italy to handle the Spanish trying through from the middle which usually is impossible. Most teams try to make breakthroughs from the right and left sides, but no, Spain will go through the middle. And they find the gaps in the defence. Once Motta was out after 4 minutes on the field you knew it was over.

appears Italy was beaten at 60 minutes into the game, Spain could do whatver they wanted and did with 2 goals in a 10 minute period right in Italys face. congrats to Spain...........Germany can continue to kick itself in the buttocks for not having beat Italy in the semi's.

perfiduous ... Moi? Perhaps you are right though..if it rained or got a bit muddy the 21st century team would have to leave the pitch to protect their metatarsals ..poor loves.

I read that Balotelli has accused the Juventus based Italian team players playing poorly in the final and being at fault for the poor result. Mario seems to make more and more friends every day....
