If they are complaining, and there are enough to take note and cause a discussion on its not butter its margerine, then I would hazard a guess that it matters.

Who is anyone to say anyones view even if its a moaning one in their own view is not worth its utterance...

Enough moans and you get threads on internet boards.

Then again...and its gets deeper...why do things matter?

Who says they matter, is it someone who is complaining of an unjustice, something not being right, or do things that matter only concern the chosen few. Who are not moaning, just better educated and should be trusted. There I think we should end. Before I feel like moaning.

I've probably said before but I'll say it again, I think you can safely ignore the opinions of most people as ill informed and ill thought out. I may even include my own in this. One thing is for sure, I am fairly certain that you can't assess whether something is genuinely important by how many people talk about it on the bus, otherwise the fact the bus was late and it was raining would be the two key issues of the day, every day!

Interesting article here though, it wasn't Obama who embarrassed himself this week:

I think if you were to peruse the bus and train timetables and customer satisfaction sites, you'd find the buses and trains are within set guidelines in the UK. So who's moaning. Cut their hands off.

But raises a question, being as they are joe public....who is to decide what is important?

If enough folk put names on online petitions on downing st. site, then the government disaprove that theory as they tend to measure their actions by the amount of signatures on that site for whatever subject has numbers likely to attract attention of morning talk shows...So even if your right that they are not important issues, maybe the government should take note of what you say Stefan as currently they seem to act on moaning minnies who put names on downing st polls so to speak.

Its not nit picking Stefan, this from associated Press...but I dont do the press that much anyway.

Its a bunch of moanng oldies as it were.

Obviously not just the petition made the difference, more to it than that of course.

But none the less...There is lots of evidence that the govt today acts on moaning minnies who put petitions on their website. Thats a heck of a way to guage public feeling...even more concerted than a bunch of folk on a bus. But seems to be good enough on occasions for them, thats why they encourage it after all......

His comments came after the Government went back on a previous decision and said it would provide support for veterans who wanted to mark the landings in Normandy.
The announcement was hailed as a victory after Veterans Minister Kevan Jones said last year it was a "long-standing policy" to use public money only for landmark anniversaries 25, 50, 60 and 100 years after major events.
The change of heart came after more than 300 people signed a petition on the Downing Street website urging Mr Brown "to give funding to those war veterans wishing to attend the 65th D-Day anniversary in Normandy".

To save anyone having to look thru all My junk and Stefans responses...the gist of it is

Two links to Buckingham palace of which I have provided, show there was no protocl problems, the other is a link on examples of other strange gifts she has received over the years.

I quite agree, if you look at the number of rediculous things that happen because people complain or make a fuss (banned adverts, amputee soldiers asked to leave swimming pools, no end of problems with local councils and so on) you quickly realise that actually part of the problem with 'political correctness' and the society we live in is that nobody in government has the balls to look at a complaint and say 'hang on, this is clearly from an idiot, let's ignore it.'

Sure we all love a moan about everything and anything, but that is at least partly in the knowledge that it makes very little difference. Quite frankly I quite like that, however it is about time people accepted that most of the moaners (and pretty much ANYONE who signs a facebook/internet petition) clearly has no idea what they are on about, hence their opinion is an utter waste of everyones time and effort and to act based on it is just plain stupid.

As a friend of mine asked me the other day: "who do you reckon is dumber, people who sign e-mail and facebook petitions thinking they will achieve anything or people who post on the Daily Mail 'your say' bit?"

In order for that to take place there would have to be a universal repeal of the old addage: "There are no stupid questions". Which would require the same global acceptance of the fact that there are blithering idiots.

Common sense is an elusive mistress

Or even women invited by Harriet Harmen to a meeting to discuss womens problems in the UK and how the G20 can be informed and asked to address. A fully expensed meeting with Macbeths mother to allow women in the UK to present their problems to the government with regard to discussions amongst the G20...Yeah right... The government are part of the problem...setting up tables to moan at is not a good idea...Or is it...?

Soory I was bored in barbers....nothing there but Take a Break Magazine...colour pics too...

Good idea though...a minister for moans...A petition for every event...Trouble is Steffan it was mooted that the link to Downing st petitions should be provided to Face book and My space...I dont know if it happened or not..but thats not the public wanting it...thats the govts own ideas.
