Where did Soviet troops invade when the USSR finally broke the non-agression pact with Japan in August of '45? Any links to Japanes Military History of World War II, would be great also. Thanks.

The best book on this is Leavenworth Paper #8: August Storm: Soviet Tactical and Operational Combat in Manchuria 1945 by David Glantz. Published by the US Army Combat Studies Institute of the Command and General Staff College at Leavenworth KS.
