Actually, although it is a gret picture and the guy's expression does credit to the situation, I do have a slight criticism.

His hand looks wrong - too shortened.

    Otherwise - great!

She is quite right, I don't like using B or softer pencils. They may make darker shadows but they tend to be more irregular as well, and the difference in texture I find is noticeable on larger surfaces. Other causes of a "lightening" of the shadows are scanning and the annyoing fact that I always brush over my own drawing when drawing it.

Ricky: his hand is still partially up his sleeve, I can see what you mean if you don't consider this detail.

I will probably be re-shading this one anyway, Panzerman advised me that in order to look more exhausted the soldier should have more shading under the eyes.

I can't really tell what his expression is supposed to convey.
But if I had never seen a veteran before, I sure have now.
How long did it take you to draw all that chainmail?!

    Thanks!

Re: chainmail - too long. Remember I had to draw it twice, first in pencil to make sure it would fit & look all right, and then again in fineliner.

Darn - I got bored waiting for the next 'Nameless War' episode and started reading the 'Black Paladin' tales. Abd now I'm anxiously awaiting the next instalment of that, too!

Ebar, it's all your fault, you annoyingly talented writer you!

Sure - I've got plenty of spare cash...

Already done that - I had hoped that reading a complete saga set would work. Sadly not... ;)

Well the next thing to turn up will be a couple of support pictures. I put them up to be posted about a month ago. Unfortunately, of late, trying to get stuff through the moderation queue is a bit like watching evolution at work, except slightly slower.

Havent posted many of my drawings lately, so heres a few newer ones that I've done.
Heres a US soldeir firing a bazooka, done from a photo (some minor problems)

Italian Soldeir, I know, the face looks like he got hit with a shovel

And finally, I was able to do this one freehand!

    If it's worth a look, it's worth a look.

(That is probably the most valuable comment ever! What I mean is, by all means, post it all!)

I figured that most of my drawings could do with a little bit more contrast and expression. This is perhaps a bit much...
