Ny name is Tony, I was an Aussie soldier for 18 years, I was medically discharged due to wounds received in Iraq in 2006. I started to seriously collect in 2007. My main interest in German WW2.... I started with helmets, but no have a quite eclectic collection of period and repro items. My initial aim was to have a manaquin dressed as one gf my great uncles who fought for Germany, so most of manaquin is repro, but have a lot of originsl gear, that I keep safe, whilst displaying the repro stuff. Along the way I have pretty much bought whatever takes my fancy, I have been introduced by a mate into australuan and US gear, as my wife's grand father fought in th Aussie army, so I have. Lot of originsl aussie gear, another msnawuin in the making. I have ove 21 helmets of different type, mainly German. I have a lo of original personal gear, basically all the stuff you would find in a bread bag or a soldiers pockets....I have a really nice RKF, KM marked, 6 ft x 9 ft and an Italian flag captured at Tobruk by Aussies, pretty much you nam I have at east one somewhere. I have some reall nice helmets. I had relatives that Aldo fought in the polish and British items and hav a small collection of polish badges and Aussie rising sun from WW1 and 2... I pretty much buy what I like, with no real niche areas......

I was Royal Australian Corps of Transport, fuel operator....the Avatar is the arm patch for the multi national corps south east in Iraq. We didn't take trucks to Iraq, we used bushmasters, and I wen from being a truckie to a top gunner in the bushy.....we did all the logistic runs, support the grunts and the Australian army training team Iraq....lots of time hanging out the top behind a mag 58 outside the wire.......My wife is down here at Cerberus. Had a great time in Darwin going around all the WW 2 sites and found heaps of cool stuff, from Bren gun carriers, aircraft and stuff at th campsites

Wow! Not sure how you found it, but that sounds like an exciting job...i remember going over the Bushmasters when they came out...remember being impressed with the aircon (you probably didnt use it) and the blast floor - Not sure how "Blast proof" it really is though...still, a vehicle to be proud of...i remember some Yanky SFs eyeing our bushies with more than a casual eye...Would be really interested to see those photos when they are published, thanks QOTD.

It's a footie saying, the jumpers the teams wear are sometimes called guernseys, and of you get a guernsey it means you been selected to play, gets used for a lot of situations.....so I got a guernsey to go play in the sand pit
