The Do 335 Pfeil ("Arrow") heavy fighters were the result of a design submitted in May 1942 under the name P.231, which was of a single seat high speed bomber that could carry 1,000 kilograms of bombs. I don't know that I'd fancy dodging the tomato slicer at the rear without an ejection seat. When I visited Silver Hill back in the late 60's there was one of these there in pieces. I believe it went back to Germany for a rebuild [I think I heard that in the narration also - my German being extremely rusty]. Bill
actually the NJG 1 He 219A was the first to use the ejetion seat-both of them (2) and in combat conditions some successful some not ........ google Otto Fries as an example and find out about his jumps.
