My first post on this forum, hello!

Today I just put up a new blog post about my father's service in WWII, first on the PT-27 in the Aleutian Islands, and then on the USS Stingray in the Pacific.

My father had the commission plaque for the Stingray sitting on a shelf in our basement for many years. This post tells the story of how I turned that old plaque into a memorable gift, and also relates some aspects of my father's service in the war.

    I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks, glad you folks enjoyed the story. My father did do a really great job on the model. There's lot's of good stuff in his scrapbook, worthy of another post some day. It was challenging to scan the pictures as the paper is deteriorating. Some day will have to see what I can do to preserve it better.
