Some very nice finds. I like the bottle collection a lot, the German tootpaste is great too. You could probably open a museum soon! Do you know what was in the bottles, schnapps, Eier likor?

Beer would make sense. Beer was cheap. Spirits, wine and Champagne etc. was more for officers. Eggs Liquor was popular among the Luftwaffe. They somethimes had one (when available) for an Abschuss. The white bottle with the yellow circle makes me think of a milk botlle. The smaller brown one could in fact be cough syrop. I suppose quite a few soldiers must have caught a cold in this cold forest.

The bottle with the yellow circle is about 4 cm high. Not for milk I presume.

ok I was misled by yhr size. If it's so small then it's likely medicine too. Some of the caps have little devices that allowed to count the drops so you could dose the medicine.

Next weekend I am in for 2 days, sleeping in a tent between the siegfried linie at night and searching in the woods by day. Looking forward to it.

Well Erich, thank you for the credit... I have some nice items but NOTHING compared to the collections of some friens of mine... some of them searched in the woods allready back in the mid 1990's. If you see that collection.... its impossible to believe, can't explain.

    To give you an idea:
This is just a part of his collection.

Have you ever found any grenade "spoons?" You know, the handle on US grenades that kept the weapon from exploding after the pin was pulled and before it was thrown.

You mean the spoon of the Mk2?
Found them sometimes..... but with the grenade still with it.
    Mostly in poor condition.

I guess they don't have enough mass to be found by themselves with the detector or do they usually rust away?
