Oh yes, another russian military target hit precisely:

Ukrainian Emergency Services have posted video of the ruins of the school in Bilohorivka, in eastern Ukraine, which was hit by a Russian bomb on Saturday.

Up to 60 people are feared dead under the rubble. Thirty people have been rescued so far, with seven injured and two confirmed dead.

It comes amid reports of renewed fighting in eastern Ukraine on Sunday morning.

    -----------------------

We know schools tend to build fighter planes, Howitzers and rockets. You will be sorry russians when you pay rebuilding Ukraine again. If Putin says he´s sorry for what Lavrov said he truly is falling off the edge of the world. Be careful, the Army might start a coup.

Remember Ceausescu, a leader from the USSR period. Left it too late to escape.

Putin has today celebrated Victory over nazism. I fear NATO is the next nazi Goal to him, the SS. He forgot that the west sent him military equipment etc 1941-45 or they would be under true nazi rule.

    For Kai,

What a NATO Bid by Finland Could Mean for US Air Force Arctic Cooperation
    May 6, 2022 | By Abraham Mahshie
Finnish fighter pilots take off, land, and fly in harsh Arctic conditions routinely—all within range of Russian air defenses. They often share these specialized capabilities with the U.S. Air Force to hone Arctic agile combat employment (ACE) concepts. But as the Nordic nation contemplates a NATO bid, Finland worries it could be left in the cold if Russia attacks before a potential Article 5 protection is triggered.

“We have to be ready to defend ourselves against Russia,” a Finnish defense official said at an April 26 background briefing at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, where more than 40 nations gathered to discuss how to better support Ukraine’s war effort against Russia.

“There [aren’t] any ‘in the meanwhile’ security guarantees,” the official added, speaking to journalists on the condition of anonymity.

Finnish defense officials told Air Force Magazine that Finland’s joining NATO would lead to a deeper U.S. Arctic cooperation and Air Force integration, a necessity in a world where Arctic air power is rising in importance.

“There’s absolutely room for integration,” the Finnish defense official said.

The official cited Finland’s decision to purchase the F-35 as a central piece in a strengthening partnership between the air forces of the United States and Finland.

    More Here.

    Biden signs Ukraine 'lend-lease' act

US President Joe Biden has signed a bill that aims to streamline American military aid to Ukraine and other Eastern European allies.

The measure evokes World War Two's Lend-Lease Act, which allowed the US to fast-track $50bn in aid to allies fighting Nazi Germany.

Speaking in the Oval Office on Monday, Biden said: "The cost of the fight is not cheap. But caving to aggression is even more costly."

On Friday, the Biden administration announced a $150m military package for Ukraine, bringing the total US commitment to $3.8bn.

Russia's bid to restrict Nato enlargement looks set to backfire

One of Russia's primary concerns before the conflict was the prospect of Ukraine joining Nato.

Ukraine has since cooled on its plans to join the security bloc. However it does now seem increasingly likely that Nato will be expanding anyway, with Finland poised to say it intends to join and Sweden likely to follow soon after.

On Wednesday, Finnish President Sauli Niinisto said Russia's President Vladimir Putin was to blame. "You caused this," he said. "Look in the mirror."

Turkey, itself a NATO member, says that the joining of Finland and Sweden would be a mistake. Who are you mr mistake. Maybe your love life with mr Putin prices your stand just a crap** nothing. Russia though loves when you sold the drones to Ukraine ??. Idiot and wrong choice. I can hear the bullets hitting the brick Wall. No price to pay when you go the wrong way.

Has nothing to do with Putin. Sorry, but that is a bad call on your part.

Have you forgotten Finnish support for the Kurds?

Last I looked, the Turks & Kurds did not get along(an understatement). The Turks apparently have not forgotten Finnish support(and Sweden's) to the Kurds.

Well, Erdogan was able to send Kurds to other countries like Greece, Finland etc. We have some 8600. We expect to receive some 80,000 from Ukraine.
Greece and Turks fight about this, but what would they not fight about.
Politically it is weird that Turkey, a NATO country, is invading Cyprus, an EU country. Is that a more benign thing??
