Hi globius, some of the questions you have posed are intelligent and not-unreasonable and deserve to be asked, in that e.g. many British people rightfully object to the attitude of some Americans that they fought the Second World War against the Third Reich and Japan and nobody else had anything to do with it. Unfortunately, you also seem to carry such a baggage of garbage in your arguments, that anything worthwhile you might have to say gets swamped. Really you do not seem to know that much about the Third Reich and yet you would assure us, that the "Aryan" British would have been treated okay under the Third Reich. Well you may believe that but since I presume you are not Adolf Hitler, it hardly makes much difference what you think or you do not think on the matter. The reality is that Adolf Hitler had absolute power in the Third Reich and Nazism and short, medium and long term policy in the Third Reich was whatever Hitler said it was, whenever he said it. With that in mind and in view of the fact that there was a widely circulated theory that the British nation was one of the lost tribes of Israel, and whilst such a theory from a serious archaelogical and historical perspective is pure fantasy and unfounded conjecture, such faults with that theory need no concern us here, in that British being a lost Jewish tribe would be a lot less bizarre a proposition than many of the concepts that Nazis adopted and therefor basically after an occupation of the United Kingdom, it was only needed for Hitler to endorse the theory that the British were one of the Lost tribes of Israel, for him to set about the entire extermination of the British Nation.

A question as regards these "liberal sections of German society" what were they doing, when the Reich was exterminating the Jews?

Thas has been discussed before, the Soviet was an internal problem, the 3rd Reich was a world problem.

If Stalin and the Soviet Union invaded Europe resulting in over 40 million deaths and the destruction of a continent, then it would be the Soviet Union which would be considered the bad guy and not Germany. This, however; did not happen.
