Hi. There were some questions regarding the following japanese experimental at-weapon in the last year. Now I found some additional infomations: The weapon was something between a Panzerfaust and a bazooka. the grenade was loaded from the front and the warhead was positioned outside the barrel. The barrel could be reloaded. The penetration was 120 mm welded steel between 90° and 45°. The grenade was fired by current. During trials two versions with different position of the firing mechanism were tested and also 5 different grenades with propellant weights of 30, 35 and 100 g. Data: weapon: name: type 5 45 mm experimental recoilless anti tank gun caliber: 45 mm total length:1000 mm weight: 6400 g maximum range: 150 m effective range: 50 m minimum range: 30 m ammunition: name: type 5 hollow charge grenade diameter warhead: 80 mm diameter propellant capsule: 44 mm total length: 849,5 mm length of warhead: 149,5 mm length of propellant capsule: 180 mm weight of warhead: 2300 g explosive weight: 675 g propellant weight: 120 g muzzle velocity: 40 m/sec Yours tom!
