Hi Carl, I missed this thread until now. You have some real beauts there. A lot of info in these when studied. Particularly liked the panzer pics. Especially the one with the knocked out tank, viewed by some infantry and another tank off to the left. Also liked the award ceremonies "im Felde" pics. Really nice. regards John
Hi Carl Very nice collection of pics you have...took me a while to view all of them, great collection congrats. I really like the Luftwaffe guy in the snow and wind on Guard duty wearing a Mantel. Best Regards, fischer
The 3rd photo is of two as of yet unkn to me-Generals coming from some meeting they had (most likely a Tea Party ;-)) Pic Nr 4) A great view of a Camoflaged MG-34 MG-nest. Notice all the lids are DD ;-)) Pic Nr 5) the one with all the vehicles. Did anyione here ever figure out what was so special about this particular photo? Ill give the answer after I get a few hits on it. ;-0) Pic Nr 6) Notice the man on the far right-closest to the camera? He is wearing a very rarely seen piece of militaria. Do you know what item I am talking about? ;-)0 Ill give that answer out as well, after I get a few bites on it ;-))
Hi John, Fischer, Scott, No probs mate-and glad you liked them ;-)) Im currently working on a feww more but will have to wait till Feb before trying for anymore. These look like they will get pretty expensive and very quickly. Those Panzer photos and the Award Ceeremony pics are among my favorites. Just last week I just barely missed out on agreat EKI award ceremony photo. Had all NCOs and Offiers in formation. I missed this one only because my computer was too slow and some A__hoop sniped me on it and got it for only about $12-I was fullly intending on spending at least $50 on that one photo. I have another EKII award ceremony pic in this new batch im trying for-that im hoping to score. Also, a few exceptional photos in this group one in which shows a General that Skipper and I think could be of Guderian. The seller mnissed out on this one as he does not have the General listed as a General-not an RKT and also not named. Hi Fischer, glad you got to enjoy these. Juliomoc put about 100 more of mine on the site but in the WWII Today site. Those are mostly the earliest pics I got and most or all of my PK press photos ;-)) I liked that LW pic as well. I just barely missed out on two other pics showing a LW Guard working his post at some LW HQ building. Hi Scott, glad to see you back here and looking ;-)) Don't be a stranger and come back more often ;-))
WHAT??? no attempts at trying to see what is so important about those two photos I pointed out?? C-mon guys, I KNOW some of you can spot what I mean-in those two photos. BTW, at least two of the new batch im trying for will have a clearer image of that piece of Soviet "Militaria" i've been inquiring about. SIGH, I guess I have to give a minor hint or two about that photo that has all those vehicles in it. OK, does the Battle of Stalingrad, ring anyones bell? )
Add to these photos crowed about above--a great and original snapshot photo of Gebirgejager General Julius "Papa" Ringel. This is my first Ringle photo (original) These are VERY hard to come by-or at least for under the $100.00 mark.
Scored four more over the weekend. All four are of Army Flak Troops some of whoim were just awarded the EKI or EKII. I like one in particular which shows that they named the ri Flak Truk: 'Gerti". ;-)) Also, a couple of these pics show a few Flak guys wearing their newly awarded General Assault Badges.
Congrats Carl! Always good to hear you made some great purchases. BTW, I finally got to my other flat and got the WW2 travel passes for German soldiers in Finland and will be sending them your way this week.
Hi Kai, thank you my friend and, looking forward to seeing your items ;-)) You will absolutely like the Ringel photo ;'-)) I might try for more pics of (Henerals) before the end of this month. I know of a few about to come up for sale ;-))
Three more new photos and these were not only great pics but at unbelivably cheap prices. I got a rare one of an Army Flak Truck and TWO Combat photos--all for under $10 bucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is this the place Carl? I already posted them in the other site of "photos and death cards". I'll put copies here too. I only know how to post them as thumbnails and expansion. I haven't figured out how to post them in the "huge" mode yet.
Carl...I have just jumped into this thread ...its way post my bedtime ..I have very tired eyes...but on first viewing your images they look fakes / repros that are being churned out of Eastern europe and sold on ebay ... I have bought thousands of photos ,but still get caught out from time to time ...I hope I'm wrong on this. More than one dealer that have 100% feedback sell only fakes/ poor repros jim
Oops!! I said I was tired ....the photos I was refering to were at the beginning of this thread ,years backin time..I dont know how I fouled up there sorry mate .( photos at beginning of thread look like fakes ) ..but i'm guessing you know that . jim
Hi Clint, Jim, Clint, thank you or posting them for me in whatever size you can manage-im greatful for all of them posted by you and Skipper and Julio ;-)) The first two are the newest Comabt photos and the first one really cought my eye and was the best of the combat pics available. You are so close to the real fighting here and one can imagine the hand to han fighting going on in the dense smoke. The 2nd pic is slightly after the first and still has much action happening. I will bet the photographer was no more than about 75 yards away from the actual actions. The last isnt the best of the seeral available but-what the hey-at least it is a recognizable pic of an Army Flak Truck. Im curently trying for two more and better shots but all depends on my computer working at the time I need it to. Hi Jim, your correct on the first few pics. These were indeed repos which I did not find out till I finally got them in. The pics were posted long before the actual arrivals of them. The dealer-rather-crook--was a crook by the name of kiev1943, and all he sells are repops. I got most of my money back from the jerkwhich took about 5 months. Rather he didnt send me a refund but the US company that he does business with-sent me about 75% of what I am owed. In all, I had 11 repo pics-annd I kept the repos instead of returning them to that kiev jerk. Also, I have contacted many of his customers and told them what all I could about his scam and so far he ha lost 20 buyers. I know at least two of them had purchased fro him and got screwed. They both thanked me because they read my warning about him before they spent too much money. Anyway, all the other photos I have are period originals and about half are from the same dealer-Rick) and a few others here have also purchased from him and never got shafted. ;-)) Of the approx 400++ pics I have--all but those 11 are period originals ;-)) Take care and hope you all liked these and any others that Skipper or Clint can manage to post here. These are mostly some great shots.
Jim, I almost forgot but, you re right on this guy as he has at least 3 other ebay selling accounts that I know of. I dont remember the usernames he uses on them but, they are easy to spot because of the style of posting he uses as well as the wording is simular as well as the shipping charges and starting bids and such he uses. If I can find the time? ill try looking or this jerks other aliases and will post them here ;-))
Have two more coming. nothing great but one is an Army Flak Halftrack guarding some bridge. The other pic is some Offizier with an IAB on his tunic. i got shafted because i couldn't log onto the site to try for the many others i missed.
Hello C.Evans ...I'm not sure if its the same individual who is using different ebay Ids or a group people ...I recently noticed one set up in Uk ,but same style of photos being offered in Ukraine and Canada. Each seller is selling in volume and has 100% feedback . As you say ,listing wording virtually identical...all photos sold as original..all 100% tat . They are all close to postcard size , on an odd thick card /paper , have a strange pink tinge and smell of tea and coffee ..total rubbish fakes . I find it are to believe people are paying good money for them . I trade on feepay ( sorry typo ) meant ebay ....so when I received mine I was a coward ,I did not want negative feedback in return . I merely stated clearly and firmly ...."I know they rubbish repros , you know they are rubbish repros ,money back please "...he even let me keep the damned things . I have bought many albums from USA Rick ...he is a good dealer . Last year I was at the War and Peace show in Kent England ...the worlds Premier WW2 event ....The pink , tea strained, repro rubbish photos were on offer there from a general militaria dealer ...I had a bit of fun with him..I said how much for all his photos ..figure was something in the region of $ 1000 ...for a while I pretended to be dumb and opened my wallet ,I could see greed in his eyes . Rick was also at the War and Peace show ...I bought the Tirpitz album and Fallschirmjager album from a British trade dealer there , apparently Rick had looked over them just 15 minutes before me ...so I was lucky to get them . Do you know big Rolf in Germany ? he is also a respectable dealer ..I have bought from him online and recently met him in person ..I believe he has been in the business a long time and has a good reputation . many thanks jim
Hi Jim, I think its a group of people doing these particular auctions. This is partly because not only are the styles of auctions and wares so much alike, but I found it funny that a dork allegedly named: Adolff-is born and raised in Latvia as this contact I have said he was from and lived. Also, when I finally got in 11 of about 25 or so photos I paid for, this was from someone else with an entirely different name and location. I threw away this creeps address long ago and don't remember what name he used. I told the jerk that I was going to sic the local authorities on him for mail fraud and such-as well as Interpol. I had this creep shi__ing bricks and running scared. After a few months of pestering his American Company he gets payment through-which is Protek Trading COmpany out of Longbeach, California--I recieved about 3/4 of my money back as refund through them and it really singed Kiev1943s butt, that Protek issued me a refund without going through him first-which means that "Adolff" is out over $350.00 free US Dollars and has no way of getting it back. This freak of nature tried its best to get me to give it my bank account numbers to which I not only told the bastich off-but said hell no in the process. Right now, I have been contacted by no less than 10 of its regular customers as well as at least that many in potential new customers-all whom now know he is a fraud and thief. Also, as per ebay-just because I left it negative feedback, it cannot retaliate in leaving me any negative feedback. I plan on messing with this freak more-when time permits :-D Rick is a great dealer. I can't afford his "Good" photo albums-but that's OK, because I do score great pics which are good enough for me ;-)) I plan on not buying any pics in Feb-but only if something else im working on getting falls through. March is going o be much like this month and I plan on getting a few pics with tanks in them. I am not sure which Rolf your talking about but, I do know a German dealer named Rolf-who is from Berlin. I have bought from him in the past-but not lately because my money is tight these days. I'd love to see a few of your photos if you can post them. I know they would blow away most of mine ;-)) Take care and best regards-Carl.
