I don't care what the Sandys were dropping as long as they didn't drop them on me.

I only get that angle on a toilet when I have 2-3 dead soldiers on the table.

I’m not sure if I’ve passed this on before but seeing that “hopper bomb” reminded me of the story my Dad told me about one of his Korean War stories. He said that USN jets would fly over their trenches real low, slide back the canopy, rollover and dump garbage from the carrier on them. He said that he couldn’t recollect why they felt the need to dump refuse on them, or why they wouldn’t drop garbage on the Chinamen’s trenches across the way instead. After a “few garbage runs” too many, the boys in the company decided to up the ante a bit. So they took all the tracers for the 50 caliber hey could find and belted them altogether. The next time when the Navy Airedales buzzed them they lit up the air with their tracer loaded 50s just to make it interesting. He said those Navy jets broke from their garbage run and headed back towards the carriers most quickly. Soon afterwards strong words came down from Division (7th) to cease and desist from firing on friendly aircraft immediately. When it was explained to Division what the Navy was doing to deserve such treatment there was no response. And no more garbage runs from the Navy.

Those Chinamen in the opposing trenches were probably wondering what the hell was going on during these episodes.

    "Fly low!"

    "What!?"

"Fly low, it confuses their tracking."
