Finnish Air Force and Barbarossa

    On 18th June 1941 Finnish fighters were Painted with German eastern front plane signs/colouring.

    That was just a yellow fuselage band and yellow on the underside wing tips as identification markings.

    Most Finnish fighters had already been camouflaged. Although the Brewster Model 239s were still wearing the same silver dope color they arrived with back in 1940. These would be fully camouflaged on June 19th, 1941.

    As an aside the Finnish Blenhiem bombers continued to wear their British camouflage for some months after the war began.
