In all his wisdom, he has foreseen that due to the critical world situation at the moment, the Democratic Republic of Qirnal might require to forge an alliance with one of the major combattants in the ongoing war, in order to ensure out independence. The Army of the Democratic Republic of Qirnal is 1,000,000 man strong, and is well-trained and equipped with very modern equipment, except for one area: armoured personel carriers. Currently, all of our infantry is transported by trucks, which is unsatisfactory. We are looking for a high-quality vehicle, capable not only of transporting out infantry to the battle, but also of performing a wide range of support roles for our infantry. Because of our very lucrative export of canned goat milk, the price is of no concern. Of main importance in the design is: Frontal armour capable of resisting medium anti-tank guns from at least 500 m. Side and rear armour capable of resisting light anti-tank guns from atleast 500 m. Easy access to and from the vehicle, to allow rapid deployment Good road and cross-country performance (we are looking at expanding our army with tanks, but at this time we have not decided on a design. Therefore, the vehicle must be capable of keeping up with all standard medium tanks in production today) Light armament when functioning as an armoured personel carrier Capability of carrying light and medium anti-tank guns, anti-aircraft guns and light conventional artillery (it is not required that the vehicle can function as an armoured personel carrier at the same time) Relative ease of repair, due to our own limited industrial capacity The Democratic Republic of Qirnal will take the country of the proposed design into consideration when choosing who we will offer an alliance to in the future. By the way - the new job involves designing items for an electro-slag refining plant in Germany. Maybe some of the steel produced on the machine I'm designing will end up in Leopard 2 gun barrels... If I get a site visit I'll take my camera :grin:
