German SS WW II Cyanide Capsule VERY RARE - Listing # 40963

For sale is this Rare German SS WW II Brass Cyanide Capsule,it is Maker Marked TESCH HAMBURG 77/42 STABNOWE and measures 43mm long by 13mm in diameter and has a Stamped Screw on Brass Cap with the letters SS.Inside was held a Glass Phial containing Cyanide,these were carried by Secret Agents etc to use in committing suicide if captured.This Brass capsule is identical to the one removed from Herman Gorings jail cell in Nuremburg in 1945 and can be seen in the accompanying photograph of a U S Army photograph.(Photgraph taken from the original negatives) What you see is what you get.(1) The Glass Case 8-1/4 inches by 6-1/4 inches.(2) The Maker Marked SS Brass Capsule.(3) The original Kodak Photo plus a copy.Shipping is by normal post with no guarantees once it leaves us or you can have insurance or track & trace for an additional amount. Fake? or the real thing?

Well I would assume the the 77/42 is either a serial number or a lot number. If it's a lot number I would find it strange for there to be 2 vials from the same lot; but, if it's a serial number then one is definately original and the other is fake.

It is my understanding that these containers were secreted in a very uncomfortable place, and were sealed with bee's wax to prevent the caps from comming unscrewed (releasing the ampule), until they were needed.

 

The Goering photo one appears to have a join/change of surface texture/marking about 1/3 of the way from the base which the one on offer doesn't seem to have.

Your thumbnail pic one has the lettering on the lid looking a lot 'better', but hard to say if that makes it fake or genuine.

 

Call me crazy; but, in the "Goering" photo there is a cycnide ampule that was purportedly taken from his cell post suicide. Why would the glass ampule still be intact if he had already used it to commit suicide?

And if the photographs are for evidence/ documentation why isn't there a better picture of the cyanide ampule?

If you look, you see that no one has bid on the capsules that have been offered up.
