I personally use Tamiya Deep Green for Russian models.I've heard numerous times that the Russians used just about any green paint they could get their hands on.

I believe that to be true. Just like with the US, paint suppliers were under great demand to produce paints as fast as posible. In some case substitue methods were used. Olive green could have been anything from dark green-brown to pea green. One must also take into account that paint shades change with weather, wear, and age. Also, sometimes tanks were repainted in overhaul situations and this paint would be quite different from the faded original coat and stand out quite a bit.

So basically any reasonable green colour is alright.
I guess I'd go for olive green or something close.
