HMS Vanguard?

Hi All...new to the forum,

Been very interested in WW2 Kriegsmarine (my father was in the US Merchant Marines and told me of the u-boats in the North Atlantic when I was a kid). Began to do a lot of research, particularly on u-664, since I knew one of the crewmembers quite well.

Crowning achievement? I was made an honorary crewmember of U-664 with a certificate signed by the Kommandant Adolph Graef. I think this allows me to display the sawfish emblem of the 9th u-flot on my avitar...if I could only find the area to upload it to.

Read some of the mail on this thread...sounds like home to me! BTW, the name is from my ham radio call...actual name is Steve.

1) Welcome aboard.
2) Were you aware that the fatality rate in the US Merchant Marine exceeded that of any of the "armed" services?
