And not only that I also need a good texture for tank tracks. I'm too lazy to build a track link, so I want to do it all via the texture. If nobody here has a texture ready (would require colouring, alpha and bump map), then could somebody please scan the tracks of a, say 1:35 model that has very good tracks and email me the picture? Just put the model on the scanner and off you go, should work. Also does anybody have good WW2 camouflage scheme textures or online pictures of them?
the best books for AFV color schemes are Squadron/Signal books. The two best tanks paint schemes issues specialize in German armor, they are titled"Panzer Colors", and "SS Armor". Both were published in England in the '70's and have been out of print for years. But they are such a Holy Grail to tank painters that they arent hard to find. Amazon.com or Ebay.com most likely has several used copies on sale right now. If you cant find either book I can scan pics for you, but beware I have an old scanner and any pic I scan that looks even half way decent, is huge on the order of 1 meg of data. Just big, bloated files.
Andreas : Maybe these gents can help you with your needs..... www.missing-lynx.com A Fine armor modelling site, and some great history to boot as well ! E
Andreas, I have a copy of one of the publications that Tally has told you about which is the Squadron/signal publication, if I can finds my copy--you can have it.
Thanks, but that wouldn't help me directly. Not unless you can scan a camo pattern as a .jpg or something! What I really need is a large square .jpg or other format picture of camo, without anything else. No doors, guns, numbers, etc. just camo.
I wish I could send you something bu computer--but--I have to use a public librabry computer unfortunately. Anyway--the book is yours if you ever want it.
