There is/was a selective service classification, which gave an exemption. That exemption does not exist if you enlist of your own free will.
Ah the early years. Ticked the "Jeger" box and never looked back... Until I grew a brain, and wanted to be a mech warrior in the armd bn. Show me the guns... sorry mate you are POM... WTF is that??? 6 months service and then a new course to become squad leader... Best job ever... Provided a black wee back to do my number two's in and a condome for number one... Brawling with the locals... Downright fighting with the nancyboys in blue and bluer (Urqhs lads and the Navy, no offence...ish..) horizontal refreshment (same locals, thank god for penicillin).. Right, now for some officer training my lad... Dumb enough to pass the tests... Bang one star... some 14 years down the line, still green...Still stupid...Still loving it...
No offence..ish....taken you overgrown Scottish Highland laddie telephone caber pole throwing wagons ho...Jock lookalike. Where would we be without allies....Norwegians do the ice hole thing...Im always impressed with that...I just want to know how Jaeger gets his armoured oily smelly mech thing in and out of an ice hole...
Usually a big crane does the job. And the lucky cdr. will get an honorary title in the "Black Minx order" (becoming a normal member to the order is for lesser things such as running over a civvy Mercedes E-class car, or overriding the gunner and dealing with soft target with the main gun when you felt confident that you'd switched to the coax... in the immediate presence of umpires) and you have to pay up a few crates of beer.
Hello Jaeger, Ahmm..overriding gunners main gun-switched to coax! What kind of a tank do you operate in? or are you referring to the CV 90? Regards Kruska
I joined at 17 with parental consent. You should see a US recruter. First you will have to go through basic training, then be selected. If I remember correctly. Not everybody is accepted to airborne. Bottom Link is Fort Chambell home of the 101st Welcome to Fort Campbell, KY Fort Bragg is the 82nd Welcome to Fort Bragg Army Airborne School - Ft. Benning Army Airborne School The Basic Airborne Course The above is Fort Benning. Fare Winds``~~,, & Soft Landings Spaniard over and out,,,,.......
Fortuneatly that is one my friends acheivements in a Leopard 1. The commander can override the gunner, and in the case that I described they were aproaching a firing position to take out a hard target. Then my friend suddenly saw a group if infantry targets 40 meters away. Instead of going through the long process of giving the gunner a new order, he took control of the main gun and thought he swithced the trigger to fire the coax. On a crest next to the inf targets was a smell band of umpires. They saw and felt my friend firing the main gun loaded with proper AP ammo at no more than 30 m directly at the infantry targets. I still laugh at the thought of the look on their faces.
Soundz really interesting and had its own flavour to its sciences.. How about the age factor to consider here may give us hope and confidence .. Isn't it..?? Thanks for sharing the views and hope this will be a big success. Wallion.
