Kamikaze Attacks.........overrated?

    No...and yes. Yes and no.

    The Franklin was hit by a kamikaze on October 30, 1944.

    The photo(I only, the last, see one on my cellphone, but their appear to be more) was taken from when she was bombed in 1945. Giveaway is the 40mm quads on the hull below the island...They were not present at the time of the kamikaze attack, but were added when the Franklin returned to Bremerton for repair and overhaul.
